Comedic Actor Paul Rudd is coming to Woodstock

The Woodstock Film Festival is thrilled to announce a special one-time screening of the hit comedy Our Idiot Brother courtesy of the Weinstein Company and Big Beach FIlms. The screening will take place on May 5, 2012, 3 p.m. at Upstate Films in Woodstock. The event will feature a Q&A and reception with star Paul Rudd, producer and WFF founding Advisory Board Member Peter Saraf, and Director Jesse Peretz.

Released in August of 2011 and shot in Cold Spring, NY, Our Idiot Brother tells the story of Ned, a carefree organic vegetable farmer and lover of Willie Nelson, his loyal dog, who becomes entangled in his sisters’ chaotic lives. The film stars Paul Rudd (The 40 Year-Old Virgin) as Ned and features all-star female castmates Zooey Deschanel, Elizabeth Banks and Emily Mortimer as his sisters.

The story was born out of an idea by Director Jesse Peretz (The Ex) and written by his sister Evgenia and her husband David Schisgall with Rudd in mind.

General Admission tickets for the screening and the Q&A will be $25. A select number of $50 tickets will also include a reception at Oriole 9 in Woodstock. Paul Rudd, producer Peter Saraf (of Little Miss Sunshine fame), and director Jesse Peretz will all be in attendance. CLICK HERE for ticket and reception information.

They are worlds apart, yet a passion for dance bridges that gap in Musical Chairs, a sexy, pulse-pounding romance set in the scintillating, competitive world of ballroom dancing. Upper East Side Mia (Leah Pipes) is beautiful and vivacious with a promising career as a dancer. Bronx-born Armando (EJ Bonilla) sweeps floors at the dance studio in exchange for lessons. He dreams of a time when he will dance with Mia, the love of his life. Both their dreams are shattered on one fateful evening, when a tragic accident forever confines Mia to a wheelchair, never to dance again. True to his heart, Armando dedicates himself, along with a colorful collection of oddballs, to helping Mia overcome her painful challenges and "dance" once more. Musical Chairs is a story of impossible dreams made true through the strength of the human spirit and the power of compassion and love.

28 Tee Shirts - Authored by One of Our Very Own

WFF is happy to celebrate the new short novel from one of our very own lovable and long-time venue manager; under the pen name Mark Lennon comes 28 Tee Shirts! Mark is born and raised in Kingston, N.Y. and his works include multiple short scene writings for actors/actresses. Mark was produced in 2007 for his co-writing in the short film FOUR a film he wrote for the Ed Wood Film Fest. After a brief stint in standup comedy in 2009 he returned to writing. This is his first short novel.

In 28 Tee Shirts, Jason had it all until his addiction finally caught up with him. After being court ordered to serve 28 days in a substance abuse facility, he loses it all. Jason learns to change his selfishness into charity for others as he bonds and forms a family with fellow addicts. This inspires him to develop the 28 Tee-Shirts Calendar Method.
