For some, being a magician is more than making cards disappear.
This emotionally charged documentary follows the story of two troubled teenagers from Queens who have found magic as an escape from the gangs, drugs and violence that once ruled their lives. As the two struggle past countless obstacles in their paths to becoming famous magicians, they learn that certain things can't be made to vanish with a wave of the hand. Only through persistent and diligent work can the two men lead themselves to a brighter future away from the streets and onto the stage. With narration from Executive Producer and Hip-Hop luminary, Common, Magic Men is a hopeful tale that is sure to make you believe that, if you look hard enough, magic is real.

Filmmakers at the Innaugural
On Saturday, July 13 the Woodstock Film Festival in conjunction with BCDF Pictures hosted it's first Developing Your Film Summer Meet Up. It was an amazing event consisting of an all day workshop that delved honestly and openly into film projects by participating filmmakers.
Thoughts, feelings, information and insights were shared throughout the day. Meanwhile each filmmaker's project was broken down while putting it in the context of today's business of independent film.
The event was attended by eight different filmmakers from New York City and different parts of New York who arrived to spend a day in the country with WFF and BCDF President Claude dal Farra.
Isabel Barton noted that the experience "provided a rare opportunity to take a good look at the reality of the current film industry arena and showcase our works-in-progress within a nurturing environment, an experience that proved to be thoroughly empowering."
